Losing one tooth or several changes how you chew, speak and smile. There are three main ways to replace teeth, and each fits different people.

Removable denture

  • For: several missing teeth or a whole jaw; the quickest and most affordable start.
  • Good to know: it is taken out to clean, may move when eating hard food, and needs adjusting over the years because the bone shrinks.

Fixed bridge

  • For: one or two missing teeth with strong teeth on both sides.
  • Good to know: the neighbouring teeth are trimmed for crowns; cleaning under the bridge needs special floss.

Dental implant

  • For: most adults with enough bone and healthy gums, from one tooth to a full arch.
  • Good to know: it feels closest to a natural tooth, does not touch the neighbours and helps keep the bone. It takes a few months to heal before the final crown, and smoking or uncontrolled diabetes lower the success rate.

Quick comparison

  • Chewing comfort: implant › bridge › denture.
  • Speed: denture › bridge › implant.
  • Protecting other teeth and bone: implant is best.

Implants can also hold a denture firmly in place — a good middle way for a full jaw. Read the implant guide and implants in Erbil, or see a missing tooth filled on a real photo in the implant simulation.
